Man Killed after Tucson Hit-and-Run on 1st Avenue and Fort Lowell Road

 
TUCSON, AZ (December 4, 2023) — A man died in a hit-and-run accident on 1st Avenue in Tucson on Sunday, November 26.
 
According to the Tucson Police Department, the crash occurred at about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of North 1st Avenue and East Fort Lowell Road.
 
During the investigation, detectives found out that a vehicle traveled southbound on North 1st Avenue. After that, it fatally struck the pedestrian at the curb of the intersection.
 
The man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. However, his identity is not yet available pending family notification.
 
The vehicle drove away and did not check on the victim.
 
According to TPD, detectives are still trying to figure out where the pedestrian was on the roadway. In addition, they want to know if he was on the crosswalk when the crash happened.
 
Authorities said the involved driver who left the scene of a fatal crash is the focus of the investigation. No charges or citations have been issued at this time.
