Man Killed and Three Others Hurt after Hit-and-Run Accident on 59th Avenue and Camelback Road

 
PHOENIX, AZ (October 9, 2023) — One person died in a hit-and-run crash on 59th Avenue on Saturday, September 9.
 
According to detectives, at about 11:00 p.m., a truck ran a red light near 59th Avenue and Camelback Road. After that, it struck a man crossing the street. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The vehicle then continued past the intersection. It subsequently hit another car and eventually careened into a nearby bus stop.
 
According to the police, the truck driver ran away and left behind a woman sitting in the passenger seat with serious injuries. Paramedics transported her to the hospital.
 
A woman and another adult in the car in the initial vehicle had minor injuries. Police said they did not bring them to the hospital.
 
Authorities have not released the identities of the involved in the crash.
 
Phoenix police said they know the name of the suspect and they are searching for him. They have not shared any description of the man. He is still at large this time.
