According to Scottsdale Police, the crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. at 82nd Street and Indian School Road.
 
Scottsdale Police said paramedics transported the pedestrian to the hospital in critical condition.
 
Authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of impairment.
 
The identities of the pedestrian and the driver were not immediately available.
 
Following the crash, officials temporarily closed the westbound lanes of Indian School Road between 82nd Street and Hayden Road. Eastbound lanes remained open.
