Parker Young Arrested after Lubbock DUI Accident on Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue
LUBBOCK, TX (September 5, 2024) — Authorities arrested 19-year-old Parker Young after a DUI accident on Saturday, August 31.
According to Lubbock Police, the accident happened on Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue at about 11:45 p.m.
Officers directed traffic at the intersection of the Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue. At that time, an Abilene Christian University Football team bus traveling eastbound passed through the intersection.
At the same time, Young drove south on University Avenue. Then he neglected the traffic directions and crashed with the ACU bus. The impact caused it to collide with another vehicle in the left turn lane trying to head north.
First responders transported four individuals on the bus to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, authorities brought Young to the Lubbock County Detention Center. They charged him with DWI.
