Paola Bondon Identified in Fatal Tanker Truck Accident on Highway 59 in Nacogdoches

 
NACOGDOCHES, TX (July 26, 2023) – The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office identified Paola Rojas Bondon of Mission who died in a car and tanker truck accident on Highway 59 on July 13.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 12:30 PM. Based on a report, Bondon was driving a 2014 Hyundai Sonata north on the highway prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a 2023 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling south. When the Hyundai made a U-turn, the truck tractor struck it on its passenger side. The truck tractor then overturned in the lanes.
 
As a result, Bondon sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
The passengers in her car, 24-year-old Carlos Gulloso-Mendez and 26-year-old Alejandro Bolano Casanova, suffered injuries. Crews transported them to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital and UT Tyler Medical Center for treatment.
 
They also rushed the driver and passenger of the tanker truck to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for treatment. Officers identified the driver as 57-year-old Terry Farris and his passenger was 43-year-old John Mottet.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
