PHOENIX, AZ (January 18, 2024) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 38-year-old Ozzy Pena who died in an accident on Thomas Road on January 10.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at 59th Avenue shortly after 10:00 PM. Based on the report, Pena was a passenger in a car traveling west on Thomas Road.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the driver veered the car into a two-way center lane and struck a truck attempting to make a left turn on the road.
 
As a result, Pena suffered critical injuries in the incident. Crews transported the victim to the hospital, where he later died.
 
Crews took the driver and the female passenger of the truck to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The driver of the car also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and did not show signs of intoxication.
