Cyclist Struck and Killed on 51st Avenue in Glendale, Oracio Garcia Arrested
GLENDALE, AZ (February 13, 2023) – Glendale police arrested 30-year-old Oracio Garcia following a fatal hit-and-run on 51st Avenue on February 12.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Olive Avenue around 5:35 AM. Based on a report, Garcia was headed north on 51st at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, a bicyclist rode out in front of his car, causing a collision. Subsequently, he fled the scene before the police arrived.
As a result, the bicyclist died at the scene. Officers did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
Police found and arrested Garcia with witnesses’ information. He faces various charges, including felony hit and run.
