COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (November 21, 2023) – Officials confirmed that one person suffered serious injuries in a crash on Lake Avenue on November 10.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at Highway 115 shortly after 4:00 PM. Based on a report, a vehicle was heading westbound on Lake Avenue and was trying to make a left turn onto Highway 115 at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, it collided with a car heading eastbound on the road. The impact ejected the eastbound driver from the vehicle.
 
As a result, the victim suffered serious injuries in the crash. Medical crews transported the victim and the second driver to the hospital for treatment.
 
Crews shut down the eastbound lanes of Lake Avenue, followed by the southbound lanes of Highway 115 as CSFD hazmat crews responded to a chemical spill resulting from the crash.
