Fatal Crash on North Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs

 
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (November 9, 2023) – The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed that one person died in a two-vehicle crash on North Academy Boulevard on October 28.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at Platte Avenue around 11:00 PM. Based on a report, an SUV was turning left from North Academy Boulevard prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a car was entering the intersection. Due to unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided and a passenger in the SUV was thrown from the vehicle.
 
As a result, the passenger suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Both drivers and the passengers of each vehicle sustained minor injuries. Emergency crews transported them to the hospital for treatment.
 
Speeding, drugs and alcohol do not currently appear to be factors in the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
