Fatal Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 281 in George

 
GEORGE, WA (November 13, 2024) – Authorities confirmed that one person died in a semi-truck accident on Highway 281 on October 18.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened just before 2:00 AM. Based on a report, the victim was driving a sedan on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
For unknown reasons, the victim crossed the center line and struck an oncoming semi-truck head-on.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the semi-truck, 29-year-old Andrew Oleshchuk of Vernon Hills, Illinois, was not hurt in the crash.
 
Troopers did not indicate if impairment was a factor in the collision, which snarled traffic on the highway for several hours.
