Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on South Lamar Boulevard in Austin

 
AUSTIN, TX (April 29, 2024) – Officials confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident in the 2200 block of South Lamar Boulevard on April 10.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 1585 shortly before 9:00 PM. Based on a report, a vehicle struck the victim who was in the lanes at the time of the accident.
 
As a result, the victim suffered critical life-threatening injuries. Austin-Travis County EMS transported the victim to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where they later died. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
APD said the driver stayed at the scene and was not impaired. Officers ask anyone with information regarding the fatal crash to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide unit at 512-974-8111. Tipsters can also submit information anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program online or by phone at 512-472-8477.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
