NINE MILE FALLS, WA (January 24, 2023) – Officers confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 291 on January 18.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Suncrest shortly before 7:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, the pedestrian was on the roadway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a commercial vehicle struck the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the deceased’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
The accident also closed the northbound lane of the highway.
