Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on East 22nd Street in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (October 31, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department confirmed the death of a 45-year-old man in a pedestrian accident on East 22nd Street on October 22.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at South 6th Avenue. Based on a report, the man was crossing from north to south on 22nd Street at the time of the crash.
 
Officers said the victim was jaywalking while the do not walk sign was on. At that point, a driver heading east on the road struck him.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews took him to the Banner University Medical Center, where he later died. Officials did not yet release his name, pending kin notification.
 
Officers cleared the 22-year-old female driver for an impairment test.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
