SURPRISE, AZ (February 11, 2025) — One person died in a pedestrian accident on Dysart Road on Thursday, January 30.
 
According to the Surprise Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Dysart Road and Grand Avenue shortly after 1:00 a.m.
 
Officers responded to the scene. They found the pedestrian unresponsive in the roadway. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures. However, the individual still succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene.
 
Authorities diverted southeast bound traffic on Grand Avenue at Dysart Road while conducting the on-scene investigation. Northeast-bound lanes were unaffected. They reopened all lanes by 6:00 a.m.
 
Police confirmed that they released the driver involved without any charges.
