According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash happened around midnight near Desert Inn Road and Pawnee Drive.
 
Investigators determined that a Nissan Altima headed west on Desert Inn Road. Then a pedestrian walking on the street crossed its path.
 
The impact of the collision redirected the pedestrian forward, while the Nissan came to a controlled stop.
 
Emergency personnel arrived and attempted life-saving measures. However, the pedestrian still succumbed to sustained injuries and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that the 29-year-old Nissan driver remained at the site and showed no signs of impairment.
 
The crash marked the 17th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD jurisdiction for 2025.
