Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on 680 Freeway in Pleasant Hill

 
PLEASANT HILL, CA (February 21, 2023) – Officers confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on 680 Freeway on February 16.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Contra Costa Boulevard shortly after 4:30 AM. Based on a report, the pedestrian was in the roadway at the time of the accident.
 
At the same time, a Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on the freeway. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle struck the victim. Police said a second car was possibly involved.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died at the scene. Officials did not release the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the Toyota was not hurt.
 
CHP is asking anyone with information about the incident to call 925-646-4980. As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
