Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 530 in Snohomish County

 
SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA (December 5, 2022) – Police confirmed that a 37-year-old man from Darrington died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 530 on December 1.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened near 139th Avenue NE. Based on a report, the victim was driving his 2003 Chevy Cavalier at a high rate of speed eastbound on the highway prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, he crashed into the back of a Jeep that was stopped for a left turn. Then, the Chevy crossed into a westbound lane and struck a Ford F-350 head-on, causing the Ford to roll multiple times. A second Jeep approaching the crash crossed over eastbound lanes and struck a tree.
 
As a result, the Chevy driver died at Cascade Valley Hospital after sustaining severe injuries.
 
The driver of the Ford, a 49-year-old Marysville man suffered injuries. He was treated at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. The two Jeep drivers did not suffer serious injuries.
 
As of now, the investigation into the case remains ongoing.
