Fatal Amarillo Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 40

 
AMARILLO, TX (March 13, 2023) – One died following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 on Monday morning, March 6.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal accident happened around 6:20 a.m. near Farm to Market Road 1912.

The details leading up to the crash are not yet available. However, the accident involved a truck tractor towing three semis, a Ford pickup and a rental truck towing a car.

One of the victims died at the scene, police said.

Another person sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital.

Authorities closed off the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 for at least six hours. They reopened the highway around 12:45 p.m.
