Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Highway 169 in Renton

 
RENTON, WA (October 31, 2023) – Officers confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 169 on October 16.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Southeast 174th Street. Based on a report, a driver called 911 to report they thought they hit a deer on the road.
 
Authorities responded and found a person along the side of the road.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
Crews initiated a lengthy closure of all southbound lanes of the highway due to the crash.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
