One Fatally Injured in Hit-and-Run on Airport Road and Chelton Road

 
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (December 20, 2023) — One person died in a hit-and-run accident on Airport Road on Friday, December 8.
 
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department. It happened at the intersection of Airport Road & Chelton Road just before 3:00 p.m.
 
The department said that a vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing Airport Road from the south to the north. After that, the vehicle fled the scene, and the pedestrian suffered serious injuries.
 
Police later confirmed that the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and died at a local hospital.
 
Officers closed Airport Road at Chelton Road as they responded to the incident. They reopened it at around 5:40 p.m.
 
Police continue to search for the involved vehicle. They described it as a dark-colored four-door sedan that may have front-end damage on its left side. They say it was last seen moving west on Airport Road.
