Fatal Head-On Crash on South 27th Avenue in Brighton

 
BRIGHTON, CO (November 29, 2023) – The Brighton Police Department confirmed that one person died in a head-on crash on South 27th Avenue on November 19.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at Kestrel Street shortly after 11:00 PM. Based on a report, the victim driving a Dodge sedan at high speed north on 27th Street at the time of the crash.
 
He then crossed the double yellow line in an attempt to pass another vehicle. Subsequently, the driver crashed head-on with a GM midsize SUV traveling south.
 
As a result, the driver suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
The passenger in the car, another 29-year-old man, suffered severe injuries. Crews transported him to the hospital along with a 38-year-old woman and three young children in the other vehicle. The woman and one child suffered serious injuries while the two children had minor injuries.
 
Evidence suggests that speed, drugs, and/or alcohol contributed to the crash. Officers ask anyone who has further information to call the Brighton Police Tip Line at 303-655-8740.
