One Dead after Head-On Accident on South Academy Boulevard and Jet Wing Drive

 
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (January 31, 2024) — One person died after a head-on accident on South Academy Boulevard on Monday, January 22.
 
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the crash took place at South Academy Boulevard and Jet Wing Drive just before 1:30 p.m.
 
Responding officers arrived at the scene and found two vehicles involved in a head-on crash.
 
CSPD confirmed one person died in the collision.
 
The condition of the other person involved in the incident was not yet available. However, reports said paramedics brought them to the hospital.
 
CSPD closed both the north and southbound lanes of the Academy. They diverted traffic from Academy at Hancock Expressway to the north and Drennan Road to the south during the investigation.
 
According to CSPD, they reopened the Academy at Jet Wing just before 3:45 p.m.
