Car Hits Alligator in Fatal Car Accident on Highway 35 in Refugio County

 
REFUGIO COUNTY, TX (August 2, 2023) – The Refugio County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a pregnant woman died in a car accident on Highway 35 on July 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the victim was driving a truck on the highway when she hit an alligator that was in the road.
 
Subsequently, the truck rolled over and came to a rest at an angle in a field near the highway.
 
As a result, the woman, an adult and three children suffered injuries in the incident. Refugio County deputies and fire and EMS personnel transported all victims to nearby hospitals.
 
Officials said the woman sustained grave injuries and died.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
