Fatal Bicycle Accident on South Congress Avenue at Stassney Lane in Austin

 
AUSTIN, TX (September 10, 2024) – The Austin Police Department confirmed that one person died in a bicycle accident on South Congress Avenue on September 4.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Stassney Lane shortly before 1:00 AM. Based on a report, the victim was riding a bicycle near the intersection at the of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle hit the cyclist.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. The Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. Authorities did not yet release the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
