Fatal Bicycle Accident on North 12th Street in Grand Junction
GRAND JUNCTION, CO (February 26, 2025) – Authorities confirmed that one person died in a bicycle accident in the 2140 block of North 12th Street on February 19.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened at the southbound lane of the road. Based on a report, the victim was riding a bicycle at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle traveling southbound on the same road struck the cyclist.
As a result, the victim suffered life-threatening injuries. EMTs with the Grand Junction Fire Department transported the victim to the hospital, where they later died. Police said The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim following notification of next of kin.
Crews closed the southbound lanes of North 12th Street to give way to police activity in the area.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
