STOCKTON, CA (October 27, 2022) — A person died while another was hurt after a two-vehicle crash near Interstate 5 and Eight Mile Road on Tuesday, October 25.

The fatal collision occurred at around 2:20 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol.

Authorities did not disclose the details leading up to the incident besides that the crash involved two vehicles. However, police stated the accident killed one driver and injured a passenger.

One of the involved drivers, whose identity remains unknown, succumbed at the scene.

Meanwhile, the injured passenger received transportation to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

The second vehicle involved had no reported casualties nor injuries.

Officials continue to look into the possible causes of the crash as CHP indicated that the influence of alcohol and drugs did not appear as a factor.
