Ian Tippins Dies After Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 28

 
TRUCKEE, CA (October 27, 2022) — Ian Tippins died following a two-vehicle crash on North Lake Boulevard on Tuesday morning, October 25.

The fatal collision happened east of Old County Road, according to the California Highway Patrol which received a call about the incident at around 9:00 a.m. It involved a GMC Savana and a Peterbilt tractor pulling a flatbed trailer.

Authorities said the GMC being driven by the 54-year-old Tippins of Tahoe Vista headed west on Lake Boulevard (State Route 28) where he drifted to the left and went across the double yellow lines.

The GMC then ended up in the eastbound lanes and came into a collision course with the Peterbilt, operated by the 59-year-old Scott Juniver of Reno.

The force of impact inflicted fatal injuries to Tippins, who died at the scene.

Meanwhile, Juniver was not injured.

The circumstances behind the crash remain under investigation. However, no other information is made available at this time.
