Fatal Truck-Pedestrian Accident on 45 Freeway in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (April 27, 2023) – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that one person died in an accident on 45 Freeway on April 20.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near FM 1960 at approximately 9:14 AM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was a truck driver who was loading equipment onto his 18-wheeler prior to the crash. His truck was on the feeder road and another vehicle heading north drove up onto and off the trailer, striking him as he stood next to the truck.
 
As a result, the man was decapitated and died in the incident. Officials did not release his name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the second vehicle sustained injuries.
 
Deputies are investigating if intoxication played a role in the crash. As of now, no other details are available.
