COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (April 9, 2024) – Troopers confirmed that one person suffered injuries in a speeding car crash on Platte Avenue on March 29.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at North Academy Boulevard. Based on a report, the victim was driving a Volkswagen Beetle eastbound on Platte Avenue at a high rate of speed before the crash.
 
Subsequently, the driver hit the back of a GMC Acadia that was stopped in the lanes.
 
As a result, the victim was hurt in the incident. CSPD also said the crash caused severe damage to both cars.
Officers cited the Volkswagen driver for speeding and causing a crash.
