Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident on Nellis Boulevard and Boulder Highway

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 23, 2024) — One person died after a pedestrian accident on Nellis Boulevard on Monday, January 22.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the crash happened at the intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Boulder Highway shortly before 7:00 a.m.
 
Evidence at the scene and surveillance footage shows that a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe traveled westbound on Nellis Boulevard. Then it turned left to the southbound Boulder Highway.
 
At the same time, police said a pedestrian tried to cross Boulder Highway eastbound. However, the pedestrian was outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
Investigators said the pedestrian failed to yield the right of way to a car. Then they crossed the Hyundai’s travel path in the inside southbound travel lane of Boulder Highway.
 
At first, LVMPD’s Traffic Bureau said the crash was fatal. However, they later corrected that information. They said medics rushed the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital with critical injuries.
 
The driver stayed on the scene. Police said they did not show signs of intoxication.
