One Killed after Fountain Multi-Vehicle Accident on 25 Freeway

 
FOUNTAIN, CO (August 15, 2024) — One person died in a multi-vehicle accident on the 25 Freeway on Tuesday, July 30.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident took place on the 25 Freeway near Mesa Ridge Parkway at around 1:30 a.m.
 
Witnesses at the scene said that a Jeep traveled southbound on 25 Freeway. Then it flipped and overturned near the Mesa Ridge Parkway exit.
 
After that, an oncoming semi then plowed into the Jeep, ejecting the driver from the vehicle. It caused the driver to land on the road, into the path of a second semi.
 
According to a local news source, one person died in the incident.
 
Authorities temporarily closed the southbound 25 Freeway from the South Academy exit to just before the Mesa Ridge exit as they investigated and cleared the area. They also diverted traffic off the 25 Freeway at South Academy.
