TEMPE, AZ (January 22, 2024) — A person died following a motorcycle accident on University Drive on Friday, January 19.
 
According to Tempe police officers, the incident happened near University Drive and 52nd Street shortly before 9:00 p.m.
 
Police said a car and a motorcycle were part of the collision.
 
Paramedics then arrived at the area and transported the motorcycle driver to the hospital. He later died of his injuries.
 
Officials have not released the identity of the motorcyclist or the driver.
 
Whether impairment, speed, or weather conditions contributed to the incident is not yet determined.
 
Responding crews closed the area during the on-scene investigation during the night. They reopened it on Saturday morning.
