Driver Killed in Truck Accident on State Highway 123 near San Marcos

 
SAN MARCOS, TX (December 1, 2022) – One person was pronounced dead in a truck accident on State Highway 123 on Tuesday, November 22.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 9:00 a.m. on State Highway 123 near FM 1978.

The student driver was occupying a northbound tractor-trailer with her instructor at the time. She tried to make a left turn from the lot of 160 Driving Academy’s yard when the southbound box truck hit them.

As a result, the box truck went underneath the tractor-trailer. Authorities worked to remove the pinned driver of the box truck for at least two hours.

The man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene, police say.

On the other hand, the student and her instructor did not sustain injuries.

Highway 123 was not available in either direction while the investigation was conducted. No other information is known at this time.
