One Fatally Injured after Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 3 near Sunnyslope Road

 
PORT ORCHARD, WA (December 5, 2023) — One person died following a hit-and-run crash on Highway 3 on Thursday, November 23.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the fatal hit-and-run collision took place on Highway 3 near Sunnyslope Road at around 1:00 a.m.
 
WSP confirmed that a person sustained fatal injuries and died in the crash. The identity of the deceased was not immediately available pending notification of loved ones.
 
Troopers said the causing vehicle fled the scene. They found it short time later, not too far from the crash site.
 
There is no information on what caused the incident and if impairment played a role.
 
Officers closed Highway 3 in both directions. They reopened all closed lanes shortly after 6:00 a.m.
