Pedestrian Struck and Seriously Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver on South Academy Boulevard at Chelton Road in Colorado Springs

 
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (November 20, 2024) – The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed that one person suffered critical injuries in a pedestrian accident on South Academy Boulevard on November 2.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened at Chelton Road around 8:45 PM. Based on a report, a vehicle struck the victim and fled the scene.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident. Paramedics located the victim unresponsive in the northbound lanes of Academy Boulevard.
 
Crews closed the road for a few hours while CSPD’s Major Crash Team investigated the scene. At the time of this writing, it’s unknown what led up to the crash or whether the driver or pedestrian was at fault.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
