Odilia De Alvarez, Elia Orozco, and Gladis De Cifuentes Killed after Argyle Car Crash

 
ARGYLE, TX (September 2, 2024) — Three women died in a major car accident on Friday, August 23.
 
According to the Denton County Emergency Services District No. 1, they responded to a crash involving six vehicles on the 35W Freeway northbound at Crawford Road at about 6:45 p.m.
 
Argyle Police Chief Emmitt Jackson said paramedics brought four people to Medical City Denton. In addition, they also transported two others to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.
 
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website reported that three of the victims died at Medical City Denton. They identified them as 69-year-old Odilia Orozco Gonzalez de Alvarez, 65-year-old Elia Orozco, and 63-year-old Gladis Orozco Gonzalez De Cifuentes.
 
Officials closed the northbound lanes of 35W Freeway traffic for around five hours at Crawford Road. They reopened it at around midnight.
 
Authorities do not believe alcohol contributed as a factor in the crash.
 
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the incident.
