Nicole Gutierrez Killed after Tucson Car Accident on Aviation Parkway
TUCSON, AZ (August 12, 2024) — A 26-year-old woman identified as Nicole Gutierrez died in a car accident on Tuesday, July 23.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred on Aviation Parkway at Technical Drive at about 1:30 a.m. on
During the PCSD detectives’ investigation, they found out that a Dodge Charger traveled eastbound on Aviation Parkway at a high rate of speed. Then the driver lost control in a curve.
After that, the Charger slammed into the concrete barriers and several signs. Then it hit a light pole and a building in the 3700 block of East Technical Drive.
The force of the crash ejected both the driver and passenger from the vehicle, according to Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
Gutierrez, who was a passenger in the accident, died at the scene of the crash. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the unidentified driver to a nearby hospital.
Gutierrez’s sister, Alicia Valencia, made a GoFundMe page to help the family with burial expenses.
Officers closed the eastbound lanes on Aviation Parkway at Technical Drive between Alvernon Way and Richey Boulevard. It has since reopened.
PCSD said the investigation in connection to the accident is still underway.
