IMPERIAL, TX (December 18, 2024) — Nautica Carrasco and her twin siblings died in a head-on crash on Wednesday, November 20.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the two-vehicle accident occurred on FM 1053 at around 7:00 p.m.
 
Texas DPS said 48-year-old Gary Don Liles, of Brownfield, drove a 2024 GM Sierra that traveled southbound on FM 1053. At the same, time, a 2012 Jeep Wrangler moved northbound on FM 1053.
 
Then both vehicles collided head-on. As a result of the incident, the Jeep became fully engulfed in flames. All of its occupants died at the scene. Authorities identified them as three teen Odessa siblings — 16-year-old Nautica Carrasco and 18-year-old twins Jackie Jurado and Jackie Lee Perkins.
 
Liles was airlifted to Medical Center Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased, the report said.
 
Official reports said the three teens were children of Lt. Heather Perkins, who works at the Ector County Sheriff’s Department.
 
The sheriff’s department made a GoFundMe for Lt. Perkins to help with the funeral expenses. As of writing, it has raised $214,530.
