CONGRESS, AZ (December 18, 2024) – Authorities confirmed that three people died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 93 on December 7.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 2:20 PM. Based on a report, the victims were in a Toyota Sienna traveling on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a 46-year-old woman from Uintah collided with the victims’ vehicle.
 
As a result, the Toyota’s 51-year-old driver from Gilbert and two passengers from Chandler, ages 17 and 44, died at the scene. Officials did not release their names, pending notification of their families.
 
Four other passengers in the Toyota received non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The woman who hit the victims’ car is currently in the hospital fighting for her life. If she survives her injuries, she will face second-degree homicide charges.
 
Emergency crews shut down the highway in both directions for several hours while detectives investigated what caused the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
