Fatal Speeding Motorcycle Accident on West Carey Boulevard and Revere Street

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (November 5, 2024) — A motorcyclist died after a speeding accident on West Carey Boulevard on Thursday, October 17.

According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, the accident happened on West Carey Avenue and Revere Street shortly before 9:00 a.m.

An initial investigation determined that a 2007 Suzuki Hayabusa traveled west on West Carey Avenue. At the same time, a 2024 Nissan Rogue moved east and prepared to turn left onto Revere Street.

The impact ejected the rider, a 29-year-old man, from the motorcycle. He died at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the SUV driver, an 82-year-old woman, to the hospital with minor injuries.

NLVPD initially reported that the cause of the crash was the motorcycle failing to yield the right-of-way to the Rogue. However, they clarified Friday that they now believe speed is the cause.

In addition, NLVPD said that the motorcycle traveled at about 80 mph at the time of the accident. Additional investigation determined that he did not have a license or motorcycle endorsement.

The investigation into the accident is still underway. The NLVPD urges anyone with information about this crash to call them at 702-633-9111.
