Miles Jackson Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck in Borger

 
BORGER, TX (October 12, 2023) — A 65-year-old pedestrian identified as Miles Jackson, of Borger, died in a crash on Sunday, October 1.
 
According to the Borger Police Department, they received a call on Sunday evening about a pedestrian and a vehicle crash. Officers then responded to the 1600 block of North Main Street and found Jackson with fatal injuries.
 
Emergency personnel administered lifesaving measures to Jackson. However, he still succumbed to sustained injuries and they pronounced him dead on scene.
 
The initial investigation determined that Jackson tried to cross the street to the East. Then he entered the lane of travel of a southbound 2015 Ford Pickup. The driver attempted to swerve to avoid hitting Jackson. Yet, the vehicle still ended up hitting him.
 
The occupants of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
