JIM WELLS, TX (February 26, 2025) – Mikaela Lee died following a crash on Texas Highway 359 on Friday evening, February 14.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident happened around 10:30 p.m.
 
Initial investigation detailed that a female pedestrian was walking along the highway in the southbound lane when a southbound vehicle struck her. Several calls from motorists also reported seeing a person walking in and out of the roadway before the incident happened.
 
Authorities added that the road condition during the time of the incident was foggy with light drizzling rain.
 
The pedestrian, identified as 25-year-old, Lee, died at the scene.
 
The driver left the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
