Michael Meacham Identified in Fatal Head-On Accident on Highway 28 in Rock Island

 
ROCK ISLAND, WA (February 14, 2025) – Authorities identified 66-year old Michael W. Meacham of Spokane who died in an accident on Highway 28 on February 9.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, Meacham was driving a Northwestern Stagelines charter bus from Seattle to Spokane. The bus was traveling its regular scheduled route between cities.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a 17-year-old female moved her Toyota Camry from the westbound lane into the eastbound lane and hit the bus head-on.
 
As a result, Meacham and two 17-year-old occupants of the Camry died at the scene. The Eastmont School District confirmed one of the teens was an Eastmont High School junior, and the other a former student.
 
Authorities added that a passenger on the bus later died at Confluence Health Hospital.
 
Seven other bus passengers were hurt in the wreck.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
