Aliaksandr Maisak Identified in Fatal Accident on 80 Freeway in Eureka County

 
EUREKA COUNTY, NV (February 14, 2025) – Authorities identified 49-year-old Aliaksandr Maisak of North Carolina who died in a semi-truck accident on 80 Freeway on January 31.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened near mile marker 263 at approximately 12:10 AM. Based on a report, Maisak was asleep in the sleeper berth of a blue Freightliner box truck traveling west on the freeway at the time of the crash.
 
Police said the driver of the truck veered off the left side of the roadway into the center median. The truck continued through the median, struck an embankment and went airborne over a vehicle turnaround. In the end, the truck landed in the median on the opposite side.
 
As a result, Maisak sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police suspected the driver of the truck to be fatigued. They subsequently arrested him for vehicular manslaughter.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
