Michael Lewis and Gustavo Moreno Die in McKinney Plane Accident

 
MCKINNEY, TX (July 11, 2024) — The two people identified as Michael Lewis and Gustavo Moreno died in a plane crash on Thursday, June 27.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident happened near McKinney National Airport at about 10:22 a.m. Thursday
 
Texas DPS said a twin-engine Cessna 414 crashed into a construction site shortly after it took off from the McKinney National Airport. Footage from the scene displayed the small plane that crashed into a large mound of gravel.
 
Firefighters, police, and paramedics responded to the crash site. They pronounced 67-year-old pilot Michael Lewis from Forney and 53-year-old passenger Gustavo Moreno of Royse City dead at the scene.
 
Another passenger, 35-year-old Randy Williams, suffered critical injuries in the crash. Paramedics transported him to Parkland, where he is still receiving treatment.
 
FAA records show that the plane is registered to Hunger Relief Ministries, which is a non-profit organization in Forney that works with food pantries.
 
The NTSB arrived on Friday and will handle the ongoing investigation of the incident.
