Michael Castillo Identified in Fatal Crash on FM 382 in Runnels County

 
RUNNELS COUNTY, TX (August 8, 2023) – Officials identified 42-year-old Michael Castillo of Sweetwater who died in a crash on FM 382 on July 29.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Highway 153 around 9:30 PM. Based on a report, Castillo was driving a Hyundai west on the highway prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling south on FM 382. Due to unknown reasons, the Chevy driver disregarded the stop sign and hit the victim’s Hyundai.
 
As a result, Castillo sustained grave injuries in the crash. Justice of the Peace David Sellers pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the Chevy sustained incapacitating injuries. Crews transported the victim to Shannon Medical Center.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
