Michael Akowski Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (February 9, 2024) – The Tucson Police Department identified 55-year-old Michael Akowski who died in a pedestrian accident on Alvernon Way on January 29.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Flower Street. Based on a report, Akowski was crossing from west to east of Alvernon Way before the crash.
 
At the same time, a 20112 Dodge Avenger was heading north on the road. Police said Akowski was not in a marked or unmarked crosswalk when the vehicle hit him.
 
As a result, Akowski suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews took him to the hospital, where he later died.
 
The Dodge driver was not impaired by alcohol or drugs at the time of the collision.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
