DENISON, TX (September 10, 2024) — 26-year-old Micah Owens and 19-year-old Brandon Rashada died in an accident on Monday, September 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash took place on FM 691 near Preston Road early Monday morning.
 
Texas DPS said Owens drove at a high rate of speed eastbound on FM 691 near Preston Road. Then he lost control of his vehicle and veered into a bar ditch. After that, the vehicle struck two trees.
 
Owens of Red Oak, Texas, and his passenger died at the scene. Authorities identified the passenger as Rashada of Sherman.
 
As of writing, there are no reports of whether impairment contributed as a factor in the crash.
