Police Identify Megan Murphy in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in Callahan County
CALLAHAN COUNTY, TX (September 30, 2022) – Police identified 30-year-old Megan Murphy of Jarrell as the victim who died in a pile-up on Highway 36.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just before 5:30 AM on September 26.
Based on a report, a 45-year-old Rockdale man was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado pickup on Highway 36 about a mile west of 283. He then collided with a truck tractor towing a semi-trailer that was stopped in the traffic lane. Subsequently, Murphy came and her 2000 Ford Expedition SUV hit the pickup truck.
As a result, Murphy died in the incident. DPS confirmed that she was wearing a seatbelt. The pickup driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to Hendrick Medical Center.
As of now, an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. In addition, there are no other details available.
