Matthew Lawson Killed, Ruben Anzaldua Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 45 [Centerville, TX]

Matthew Lawson Identified in Fatal Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 45 in Centerville

 
CENTERVILLE, TX (August 18, 2023) – Officers identified 34-year-old Matthew Wade Lawson of Marque who died in a semi-truck accident on Highway 45 on August 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 12:10 AM one mile south of Centerville. Based on a report, a 2007 Peterbilt 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the truck veered off the roadway, overcorrected and rolled over in the lanes.
 
As a result, Lawson suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Emergency crews airlifted 57-year-old Ruben Mario Anzaldua of Jewett to UT East Texas Tyler Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
